From our Pastor Ian Nicholson
Firstly, I love preaching about the glory of Jesus Christ.
The word of God is the source of life – Listen carefully, wholeheartedly and obey. The call of the gospel is twofold: “Repent” – conform your mind and practice in line with the Will of God, and “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ “ - the Christian life is one of continuous trust and growth in being a disciple and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.
My foundations growing up
My father was a wonderful bible teacher and scientist, a missionary in Fiji and Vanuatu. His passion was teaching God’s word as the absolute authority for life and practice. A literal interpretation of Genesis was foundational to the whole understanding of the Bible. Here was where my life became grounded in holding fast to God’s word to be diligent in searching and obedience.
Preaching
The goal of my preaching will be centered around the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is a path to life. A glorious path that is completely different and separate from the path of the world. A path that will straighten my path and bring me into the life of the Spirit of God full of Joy, peace, patience and all the fruit of God’s Spirit. It is a path of following Jesus by listening intently to his word and living in repentance by constantly being conformed to his words.
Life & ministry
I attended bible college (Assemblies of God) as a young 19yr old and have been involved in pastoral ministry ever since for the past 30 years. Several years in Tasmania (Legana Assembly of God), Nambour (New Life Assembly of God Church), and finally approximately 20 years pastoring Landsborough Christian Family church.
I have recently moved from Melbourne to Gympie and am currently a ginger farmer.
I am married to my wife Cara, and have a blended family of 7 children.
